The competition is open to everyone over 18 , both men and women and it helps if you have smoked a cigar before, but is not mandatory as non smokers have also done well in the past.

Cigar smoking competition is open for all adults regardless of their gender, race, religion and nationality. Participation is confirmed by filling out the registration form received from the organizers. Competition in long cigar smoking is cavaliers discipline and is conducted in the spirit of the fair play.
Rule 1.
All participants receive the same cigar that they picked themselves from the
box. In the case of defective cigar, competitor can exchange the cigar for another
one. Competition ring is fixed (glued) on the same length on each cigar.
Rule 2..
Each participant will be given a cigar cutter and a box with two matches (long
ones). The competition table may contain only the items provided by the organizer;
any additional equipment for the duration of the competition is not allowed.
Participants have 1 (one) minute to prepare the cigar (cutting). Cigar is lighted with one or two matches, according to the choice of the participant. It is not allowed to light cigar until the judge says it is allowed; competition officially starts when the judge gives the sign to light cigars. Burning time is maximum 1 (one) minute and that time in included in the time
of the competition. Additional preparation of the cigar is not allowed.
Rule 3.
Additional lighting of the cigar is not allowed. During the competition it is not allowed to blow in the cigar from the outside,blow through the cigar or make it wet.
For the first 5 minutes of the competition it is not allowed to talk or consume
drinks.
It is not allowed to put down the cigar; cigar has to be kept in the hand during
the whole competition.
It is not allowed to cover or hide the cigar; cigar has to be visible at all times.
Rule 4..
Cigar is smoked up to the competition ring. In cases where the competition ring is burned, participant earns 15 penalty minutes.
Rules 5.
First falling or shaking off the cigar ash brings penalty minutes.
Penalty minutes are:
First falling or shaking off the ash in the first 10 minutes of the competition brings –
20 minutes
First falling or shaking off the ash in the first 20 minutes of the competition brings –
15 minutes
First falling or shaking off the ash in the first 25 minutes of the competition brings –
10 minutes
First falling or shaking off the ash in the first 30 minutes of the competition brings –
5 minutes
First falling or shaking off the ash in the first 35 minutes of the competition brings –
3 minutes
First falling or shaking off the ashes in the first 40 minutes of the competition brings –
1 minute
Each placement of the cigar in the ashtray during the competition brings -10
penalty minutes.
Ring burning brings -15 penalty minutes.
After 40 minutes it is allowed to shake off the ash and there are no penalty
minutes except in case of ring burning.
Keeping the cigar ash gives an advantage to the participant.
Rule 6.
Cigar smoking ends at the moment when participant lifts his/hers number and
in that moment his/hers smoking time is written down. This happens in two
possible cases:
1. if the smoking has ended with unwanted extinguish of the cigar
2. if cigar smoking has reached its allowed limit to the ring
After the end of his/hers cigar smoking, the participant is required to get up
and excuse himself/herself from the participant table.
Judges
Competition is guided by one or more judges.
Participant himself reports falling or shaking off the ashes, as well as extinguish
of the cigar or end of smoking. Judge can publicly report the participant in a
case of registering ash falling, ring burning, putting the cigar on the ashtray or
extinguishing of the cigar.
Judge can disqualify the participant if he/she does not respect the rules or
disturbs other participants.
During the competition, the Main judge informs the participants about the
time: after first minute and every ten (10) minutes after that.
When competition ends, judge inspects the rings to determine if the ring is
burned or not.
Competition report, recording of the time and writing the penalty minutes is
being done by the Main judge.
Winner of the competition is the person who smokes the cigar for the longest time
without turning it off. Meaning, the winner of the competition is the person whose
time of smoking is the longest, after all the reductions from the penalty minutes are
taken in consideration.
